A focused, one-on-one India-US Tax & Estate strategy review — built around your specific situation, not a generic checklist.
Who This Review Is For
This review is designed for HNWIs (US + India NW > USD 2M) with India & US wealth exposure & dealing with real complexity. Some situations where the review can be helpful are as below:
- You hold wealth across both India and the US and want to ensure it is protected, properly structured, and not leaking value through avoidable tax exposure.
- You are navigating a major transition — relocating from India to the US or returning, relinquishing US citizenship, or surrendering a Green Card — and want to get the sequencing right before you act.
- Your situation involves genuine complexity: cross-border stock compensation, secondment arrangements, PFIC exposure, US estate tax risk, missed disclosures, wealth holding structures like trusts etc.
- You are about to execute a significant cross-border transaction — a large gift or inheritance, or a liquidity event at your startup — and need to understand the tax consequences before, not after.
- You have already received advice on an India-US tax or estate matter and want an independent expert review before you commit to a course of action.
Why This Review — and Why Abhinav
Cross-border India-US tax and estate work is a narrow, high-stakes field. The quality of advice depends almost entirely on how deeply the advisor understands the intersection of both legal systems — and how much dedicated time they have spent thinking through the specific situation in front of them.
Abhinav works exclusively in this space. He does not take on incorporation work, tax return filing, accounting, GST, audits, representation, or valuations. This is a deliberate choice — it keeps his research current and his thinking sharp. Clients who come to him are engaging someone who spends the majority of his professional time on precisely the kind of problem they are facing.
Abhinav has no financial or referral arrangements with any bank, wealth manager, insurance company, product provider, or professional firm. His only obligation is to the client in front of him. There is no hidden agenda in his recommendations.
Before every review, Abhinav spends an average of five hours on dedicated research for the case — working through the client’s details in the 7-page assessment, mapping applicable law across both jurisdictions, stress-testing possible strategies, and proactively identifying issues the client may not have thought to raise. By the time the video call begins, the heavy lifting is already done.
In Abhinav’s experience across these reviews, the tax exposures and compliance risks that surface typically range from $30,000 to $500,000 or more in potential impact. The cost of the review is a fraction of what a single misstep in this territory can cost a family.
The distinction from a typical tax consultation is straightforward. Most consultations are reactive — the advisor answers what is asked. What they do not deliver is someone who has sat with the full picture of a client’s situation and worked through what should be concerning, what should be avoided, and what the real strategic options are. That is what this review is designed to provide.
Given the complexity and high stakes involved, Abhinav works solo by choice. Every case — the research, the analysis, the debrief call — is handled by him directly. Nothing is delegated to juniors, interns, or associates. This limits the number of cases he can take each month. It also means the person a client speaks with is the person who has done the work.

Some Important Points
- Abhinav does not prefer taking up clients with NW < USD 2M and a simple tax/estate situation. Such persons can view Abhinav’s videos on his Youtube Channel & ask any questions in comments or on Reddit’s support forum r/indiaustax (will not constitute tax/professional advice)
- The engagement does not involve delivering a written report/legal opinion. Review pointers/notes will be provided as a written reference.
- Abhinav’s expertise is connecting the dots between India/US tax & estate systems & suggesting a high-level compliant and efficient architecture for Client’s cross border situation & needs. For routine implementation/execution work (e.g. filing tax returns & forms, drafting estate documents, etc.), Clients needs to have their existing CA/CPA/Attorney/Investment Adviser relationships in place as needed.
- Abhinav is not an Investment Adviser – asset allocation, portfolio balancing simulations/FIRE calculations, investment product recommendations, policies of individual financial institutions on financial accounts etc. are out of scope.
- Abhinav’s expertise is limited to US & India. For investment products, structures, citizenship/residency implications of other countries, Client needs to also consult respective licensed professionals in that country.
- Abhinav’s fee for this engagement is non-negotiable.
